How did you get past the intimidation of your first linux kernel patch?
#1
I've been using Linux for years and I'm finally comfortable enough to think about contributing something back, maybe a small driver fix. The whole process of linux kernel development seems incredibly daunting though, with its own mailing list culture and strict patch submission rules. For anyone who's made that first commit, how did you get past the initial intimidation of such a massive codebase?
