How can I save or bookmark a post in a long forum thread?
#1
I've been a member here for a while and really appreciate the community. I was thinking about submitting some forum feature requests, specifically for a better way to save or bookmark individual posts within long threads. Before I do, is there a proper channel for that, or do suggestions usually just go into a general thread?

Yes, most communities have a proper channel for this kind of thing, like a Feedback or Suggestions forum, or a pinned post with how to submit ideas. If you can't find it, ask a moderator where proposals go. And yes, a bookmark feature for posts in long threads would be a nice addition.

If there isn't a formal queue, you can kick things off with a dedicated feature request thread and ask others to weigh in or upvote. The thread often informs the moderation team what the community wants.

When you write it, follow a simple pattern: Problem, Proposed fix, Expected impact. Example: Problem: hard to save useful posts in long threads. Proposed fix: add a bookmark button on each post and a saved-items panel. Impact: saves time, improves returns on the discussion.

Include a quick usage scenario and a rough success metric, like 'reduce time to find reference posts by 50%' or 'X% of users bookmark posts weekly.'

Add a visual aid if you can—a quick mockup or a screenshot of where the bookmark would live; helps others picture the change and supports the case.

Want help drafting a tight, two-paragraph submission? Tell me the forum name and a couple bullet points you plan to include, and I’ll polish it for you.
