How can I map a long EV road trip with reliable rural charging and backups?
#1
I'm planning a cross-country road trip in my new electric vehicle next summer and while the major highway routes seem well-covered by fast-charging networks, I'm concerned about reliable charging options in more rural and mountainous areas, especially for overnight stops at campgrounds or smaller towns. I've downloaded the common apps, but the data on charger availability and real-time functionality seems inconsistent. For seasoned EV travelers, what tools or planning strategies do you rely on to confidently map out a long-distance route with reliable charging, and how do you handle contingency plans for when a listed charger is out of service or occupied?
