How can I improve gesture drawing with 30-second poses without scribbles?

I've been trying to practice gesture drawing every day to loosen up my figure work, but I'm struggling with the time limit. My thirty-second sketches just look like messy scribbles that don't capture any real movement or proportion. Am I supposed to be focusing on the flow of the spine first, or just trying to get the entire silhouette down as fast as possible?

You are not alone for sure when you have a thirty second window the goal is energy and flow not perfect proportions start with a quick gesture line of action and the main mass then add the limbs in a couple of strokes you can refine later

Gesture work can be helped by an action line and then the torso rotation if the first line feels stiff try shifting to the silhouette and fill in the limbs quickly
