Experience deciding between monofocal and multifocal/EDOF lenses after cataract surg
#1
My ophthalmologist has recommended cataract surgery for both eyes, as my vision has become significantly clouded and is affecting my daily activities like driving and reading. I'm trying to decide between standard monofocal lenses and the newer multifocal or extended depth of focus options. For those who have undergone the procedure recently, what was your experience with lens selection, the recovery process, and how satisfied are you with your vision now, especially for intermediate tasks like computer work or seeing your dashboard clearly?

Short version: I had standard monofocal lenses in both eyes. Distance vision was sharp after healing, and I still needed reading glasses for mid/near tasks like computer work. Recovery was straightforward—only a couple days of irritation, and vision stabilized within a few weeks.
