Could neighborhood currencies inside a city change how we experience inflation?

What if each neighborhood had its own tiny currency for groceries and coffee, and you could swap between them at a city-wide bazaar—would we actually feel inflation less or more?

Interesting idea. Not sure how practical it would be, though.

Sounds chaotic but interesting. Inflation would just shift around between neighborhoods, not disappear.

Yeah, let's roll with it.

Interesting idea, but that would get chaotic fast without a solid city-wide conversion rate and guardrails.

That would be chaotic without solid rules. You'd need a city wide conversion rate and guardrails, or inflation just shifts around between neighborhoods.

Yeah, you would need a citywide conversion rate and guardrails, otherwise inflation just shifts around between neighborhoods.

Fair point. Without citywide rules, inflation just shuffles around.

Yeah, you'd need city wide rules and a clear conversion rate or else inflation just shifts around between neighborhoods.

Yep, guardrails and a city wide conversion rate would be essential or inflation will just dance around between neighborhoods.
