Considering tubeless road tires on older aluminum rims; nervous about initial setup.
#1
I'm considering switching my road bike to tubeless road bike tires this season, primarily to reduce the chance of flats on longer rides and hopefully gain a bit of comfort. I've watched installation tutorials, but I'm still nervous about the initial setup with a floor pump and getting a reliable seal, especially on my older aluminum rims. For those who made the switch, was the hassle worth it for primarily paved road use, and what specific tire sealant and tape have you found to be the most reliable and easy to work with for a beginner?
