I've been reading about the concept of "climate change refugees" and the legal gray area they exist in. Current international law doesn't formally recognize someone fleeing environmental degradation as a refugee. As droughts and sea level rise displace more people, how can global frameworks be updated to protect them, or will this lead to a new kind of stateless population?
