Art therapy communities for non-artists exploring creativity for healing
#1
I've been hearing about the benefits of art therapy for mental health, but I'm definitely not an artist. I haven't drawn or painted since elementary school, and the idea of joining art therapy communities feels intimidating because everyone else seems so skilled.

I'm looking for art therapy communities that are specifically welcoming to complete beginners and non-artists. Places where the focus is on the therapeutic process, not the artistic product. Where it's okay if your drawing looks like a child's and the point is expression, not perfection.

What I don't want is another space where people are posting professional-level artwork and talking about techniques I've never heard of. That would just make me feel more inadequate.

Has anyone found art therapy communities that truly embrace beginners? I'm interested in groups that might provide simple prompts, emphasize process over product, and create a judgment-free zone for exploring creativity as a healing tool.

I'm open to any medium - drawing, painting, collage, digital art, whatever. Just need a gentle entry point.
