Are you conflicted by Chronoscape's three-hour runtime, pacing, and ending?

I just saw the new sci-fi epic "Chronoscape" and I'm left with incredibly mixed feelings about its ambitious three-hour runtime and convoluted plot. The visual effects were stunning, but I felt the character development was sacrificed for world-building. For others who have seen it, what was your interpretation of the ending regarding the protagonist's final choice? Did you find the middle act dragged, or were you engaged throughout, and how does it compare to the director's earlier work in terms of thematic depth? I'm also curious if the IMAX presentation added significantly to the experience or if it's just as effective on a standard screen.

I took the ending as a quiet pivot toward responsibility. The protagonist makes a personal sacrifice to preserve a larger outcome, but the emotional cost is left unresolved in a way that stays with you. It's not a tidy bow, more of a grown-up, ambiguous finale.
