I've reached a point in my career where I feel professionally competent but personally stagnant, and I want to dedicate this year to intentional personal growth beyond just skill-building, focusing more on self-awareness, emotional resilience, and finding a better work-life balance. I've tried journaling and reading self-help books, but they often feel abstract and don't lead to tangible change in my daily life. For others who have undertaken a similar journey, what concrete practices or frameworks helped you gain deeper self-understanding and actually implement new habits? I'm looking for strategies to identify my core values, manage stress and perfectionism more effectively, and build a sense of purpose that isn't solely tied to my job title or productivity.
Try a 2-week values-driven experiment. Take the VIA survey to identify your top 3 core values, then design one tiny habit for each value every day (e.g., if 'Curiosity' is a value, read a non-work article; if 'Connection', reach out to a friend). The key is micro-habits you can do in 5 minutes, not sweeping life changes.
