Our local library's teen advisory board just finished a six-month community project where we designed and built a "little free library" specifically stocked with young adult and graphic novels, and we installed it last weekend in a underserved neighborhood park that lacks easy book access. We're really proud of the result, but we're already brainstorming our next initiative and would love some inspiration. For other groups who have completed successful community projects, what did you tackle, and what were the biggest lessons you learned about planning, funding, and sustaining the project after the initial build? We're particularly interested in ideas that involve intergenerational collaboration or address digital literacy, as we'd like to partner with our senior center next.
