For educators or hobbyists who have done this, what are the most reliable and engaging protocols for a classroom setting that yield visible, spoolable DNA? Have you successfully incorporated variables like different salt concentrations, types of alcohol, or mechanical disruption techniques to turn it into a genuine inquiry-based lab, and are there any safe stains or simple spectrophotometry methods accessible for high school labs to analyze the results?
