I'm due for a phone upgrade and am seriously considering a foldable smartphone for the first time, drawn by the idea of having a tablet-sized screen in my pocket for reading and media, but I'm deeply concerned about the long-term durability of the hinge and the inner display. I've read mixed reviews about screen protectors, crease visibility, and battery life, and I'm not sure if the current generation has truly solved the early reliability issues. For those who have owned a foldable for at least a year, how has the device held up to daily use, and have you experienced any hardware failures or significant wear? Is the software experience and app optimization for the larger canvas now mature enough to justify the premium price, or do you still encounter frustrating compatibility issues that make it feel like a beta product?
