I've recently been promoted to a department head role at a manufacturing company, and my first major task is leading a change management initiative to implement a new enterprise resource planning system that will fundamentally alter workflows for over a hundred employees. While the technical rollout is being handled by IT, my challenge is the human side: overcoming deep-seated resistance, managing anxiety about job security, and fostering genuine buy-in for a process that will initially slow everyone down before improving efficiency.
