I have a long train commute every day and I've burned through all my usual mobile games, so I'm looking for some genuinely engaging new titles that are more than just time-wasters with aggressive microtransactions. I enjoy strategy games, thoughtful puzzles, and well-crafted RPGs, but I'm open to any genre as long as it has depth and a fair monetization model, preferably a one-time purchase or a generous free-to-play structure. For fellow mobile gamers, what are the best mobile games you've played recently that actually respect your time and intelligence? Are there any standout indie titles or ports from PC/console that have translated well to touch controls, and how do you typically discover quality games amidst all the clutter on the app stores?
