I work for an international NGO coordinating aid in a region experiencing a severe and protracted refugee crisis, and while we manage immediate needs like shelter and food, I'm deeply concerned about the long-term psychological impact on displaced children who have spent years in temporary camps with no formal education or stability. Our resources are stretched thin addressing daily survival, leaving little capacity for the mental health and developmental programs that are critical for preventing a lost generation. For other humanitarian workers or experts in this field, what are the most effective, scalable interventions you've seen for providing psychosocial support and informal education in these unstable environments? How can aid organizations better integrate these long-term needs into emergency response planning from the outset, and what partnerships with local communities have proven most sustainable?
