I work in a small marketing department where we're constantly bogged down by manual, repetitive tasks like data entry between platforms, social media scheduling, and generating basic performance reports. I'm convinced we need to implement some level of workflow automation to free up time for strategic work, but I'm not sure where to start or which tools are best for non-technical users. For teams that have successfully automated their processes, what were your first and most impactful automation projects? How did you get buy-in from colleagues resistant to change, and what platforms or no-code solutions have you found to be the most reliable and easy to maintain over time?
Great goal. Start with one high-impact, low-risk automation. For us it was moving form fills into a CRM and a task board: form → HubSpot (or your CRM) → Asana/Trello, with an automatic status update and a weekly digest. It saved dozens of man-hours and reduced data-entry errors. Run a two-week pilot, track hours saved and error rate, and keep a one-page plan so others see the value.
