I'm working on a short animated film that blends live-action footage with hand-drawn elements, and I'm spending an enormous amount of time on rotoscoping techniques to isolate my actors from the background. I'm using After Effects but the process is tedious and my edges often look jagged or unnatural, especially with fine details like hair. For animators and VFX artists, what's your workflow for efficient and clean rotoscoping on complex shots? Are there specific tools or plugins within AE or other software that have significantly sped up your process, and how do you approach planning your roto to maintain consistency across a sequence without burning out?
