Organ regeneration research is advancing toward the goal of growing replacement organs in the lab. While we're not there yet for most complex organs, progress is being made.

What organ regeneration research breakthroughs are most promising? I'm following the work on decellularized scaffolds and the combination with stem cells. The progress on simpler tissues like skin and cartilage is encouraging, and the work on more complex organs like kidneys and livers is moving forward too.
