As the new finance manager for a small manufacturing company, one of my first tasks is to overhaul our rudimentary cash flow forecasting process, which currently relies on a single, static spreadsheet that's often months out of date. Our sales are seasonal and we have long lead times on raw materials, so accurately predicting our cash position is critical to avoid liquidity crunches. I plan to implement a rolling 13-week forecast, but I'm unsure about the best way to integrate data from our ERP system and sales pipeline without it becoming overly complex.
