I just moved to the city and I'm trying to meet some new people, so I figured I'd introduce myself here. My name's Alex, I'm a graphic designer working from home, and I moved here about three weeks ago for a new job. I don't really know anyone yet, so I'm hoping to find some local groups or maybe just chat with folks online who are into hiking, board games, or just grabbing a coffee. It's a bit overwhelming being in a new place by yourself.
Hey Alex nice to meet you and welcome to the city moving here is a big change but you are not alone there are plenty of groups and casual events to try
I moved to a new city last year and joined a hiking group and a board game night at a cafe it helped me meet people fast and learn the area
Maybe pick one or two things you really enjoy and try them for a bit instead of chasing every hobby at once
Do you have a favorite trail or coffee shop yet or are you still exploring options figuring that out can guide you to the right meetups
If you want easy wins look for coffee chats town meetups or local game nights at a friendly cafe those are usually welcoming and low key
