My new washing machine is making a loud banging noise during the spin cycle, it just started yesterday and it sounds like something heavy is loose inside the drum. I checked and there's nothing stuck in there, no coins or anything. It's only a few months old so this is pretty frustrating. The machine still seems to clean the clothes but the noise is really concerning. I'm not sure if I should call for a repair or try to fix it myself.
That sounds rough a loud bang during spin is not normal and should be checked soon.
Not sure what is loose yet but could be a worn out drum bearing or a loose belt worth a closer look.
I had a similar issue once a service tech found a loose drum mount and fixed it then it was quiet again.
Stop trying to fix it yourself and call for service already this is not DIY friendly.
