Looking for a good book to get lost in || I'm in a major reading slump. I keep starting books and putting them down after a few chapters. I want something that really pulls you in from the first page, preferably fiction but not too heavy or depressing. The last book I truly loved was about five years ago. I just need a story that makes me forget about my phone for a while. Any suggestions welcome.
Try The Night Circus it pulls you in with mood and magic rather than heavy drama. The Ocean at the End of the Lane is short and dreamlike. The Storied Life of AJ Fikry is warm and easy to get into.
To beat the slump try a simple 20 minute daily sprint and end on a page you want to return to. You could also sample a short story collection or an audiobook to change pace.
Tell me your preferred vibes like cozy literary fiction or fast moving thrillers and roughly how many pages you want to read in one sitting. I can tailor two or three options.
