It's great to introduce yourself to the community. Beyond your name and field, what's a specific hobby, project, or interest you're currently exploring that you'd love to chat about here?
I'm currently diving into vintage bicycle restoration with the aim of making a daily rider. This means learning basic metalwork, wheel truing, and simple powder coat touches. It's a mix of hands on problem solving, patience, and budget friendly hacks. If you ride or fix bikes we can swap tips on parts sources or safe upgrade ideas
Another hobby is growing edible mushrooms at home using a simple kit. It's surprisingly technical about humidity, air exchange, and timing but very accessible. It's a small science project that keeps me curious and offers fresh mushrooms for meals. If anyone wants to trade tips on sterile methods or log gear I am here
I'm dabbling in macro photography of insects focusing on tiny details in nature. The gear is basic, a cheap macro lens and some patience. It's a different way to slow down and really notice the world around
I'm learning to code small automation scripts for my own home projects. Not heavy programming, just enough to automate a timer or track a habit. I find it surprisingly meditative and it connects nicely with other hobbies
