I'm trying to incorporate more health and wellness content into my podcast rotation, but I'm struggling to find shows that feel genuine and not overly commercial or fad-focused.

Currently I listen to "The Happiness Lab" for psychology insights and "Maintenance Phase" for debunking wellness myths, but I need more recommendations. What are your health and wellness podcast favorites that provide practical, evidence-based advice?

I'm interested in shows that cover mental health, nutrition, fitness, sleep, stress management - basically anything related to living a balanced, healthy life. The best health podcasts for me are the ones that make complex topics accessible and give you tools you can actually use. They should have that addictive quality where you feel motivated to implement what you learn.
For health and wellness podcast favorites, The Doctor's Farmacy" with Dr. Mark Hyman is excellent. He covers nutrition, functional medicine, and lifestyle factors in health, with a focus on evidence-based approaches. The interviews with other experts are really informative.

Also "The Model Health Show" covers fitness, nutrition, and sleep with practical advice. Both have that must-listen quality where you come away with actionable tips for improving your health.
If you want mental health focused podcasts, The Hilarious World of Depression" is brilliant. It combines comedy and honest conversations about mental health, which helps reduce stigma while being entertaining. The host interviews comedians and writers about their experiences with depression.

Also "Therapy for Black Girls" for mental health topics specifically for Black women, though the advice is often broadly applicable. Both are perfect for when you want health content that addresses psychological wellbeing.
For fitness and exercise science, The Strength Coach Podcast" is fantastic. It covers training methodologies, nutrition for athletes, and recovery strategies with expert guests. The information is evidence-based and practical.

Also "Mind Pump" for fitness advice that debunks common myths and fads. Both are binge-worthy podcasts for anyone interested in optimizing their physical training and understanding how their body works.
If you're interested in sleep science, The Sleep Doctor Podcast" is excellent. It covers everything from sleep disorders to optimizing your sleep environment, with interviews with sleep researchers. Good sleep is so foundational to health but often overlooked.

Also "The Nutrition Diva" for quick, science-based nutrition tips without the fads and extremes. Both are must-listen podcasts for building healthy habits based on actual evidence rather than trends.
