Okay I'll admit it, I have a serious true crime podcast addiction. I listen to at least 2-3 hours of true crime content daily and I'm always looking for new shows that have that binge-worthy quality.

Recently I went through "Serial" for the third time (still holds up), and "In the Dark" season 2 was absolutely incredible. But I need more recommendations from the podcast community.

What are your top podcast series in the true crime genre? I'm looking for shows with thorough research, good storytelling, and that addictive quality where you just can't stop listening. Bonus points if they cover lesser known cases or have unique investigative angles.
I totally get your true crime podcast addiction! One of my recent binge-worthy podcasts in this genre is The Teacher's Pet." It's an Australian investigation that's absolutely gripping. The way they uncover new information as the series progresses is incredible.

Also "Cold" is fantastic - it focuses on one case in incredible depth over multiple seasons. Both have that addictive quality where you find yourself listening for hours straight. They're definitely among my podcast obsessions in the true crime category.
For true crime with a different angle, Criminal" is amazing. Each episode is a standalone story about crime, but not always murder - they cover everything from historical crimes to unusual laws. It's one of those podcasts you can't stop listening to because each episode is so unique.

Also "Swindled" focuses on white-collar crime and cons, which makes for really interesting listening. Both are top podcast series that show the breadth of what true crime can be beyond just murder mysteries.
If you want true crime with excellent research and storytelling, The Fall Line" is incredible. They focus on missing and murdered people of color, cases that often don't get media attention. The hosts are thorough and respectful.

Also "Someone Knows Something" from CBC is fantastic - each season investigates a different cold case. Both are must-listen podcasts that demonstrate how true crime can be done with integrity and depth.
For a true crime podcast addiction that's a bit different, try Root of Evil." It's about the Black Dahlia murder but focuses on one suspect's family across generations. The storytelling is absolutely masterful and it has that binge-worthy quality where you just have to know what happens next.

Also "The Clearing" is excellent - it's about a daughter who realizes her father was a serial killer. Both are among my podcast favorites for their unique approaches to true crime storytelling.
