I've been doing deep dives into album deep cuts lately, and it's amazing how many underrated concept albums have these incredible narrative arcs that go completely unnoticed.
One that's been on heavy rotation for me is "The Clockmaker's Daughter" by Mariana's Trench (not the pop punk band, different artist). It's a full narrative concept album about a clockmaker in Victorian London, and the way the instrumentation mirrors the ticking of clocks throughout is just brilliant. The deep cuts on this thing are where the real magic happens - tracks 7 through 9 form this beautiful instrumental suite that tells a story without words.
What underrated album analysis have you done recently? I'm looking for albums where the deep cuts reveal something special, or underrated concept albums that create complete worlds.
