Generative AI is great for creating content, but its real power for me is in refining rough ideas. What's a specific, non-obvious prompt or technique you use to get an AI to help you think through a problem, not just write about it?
Try a prompt that asks the AI to be a thinking partner and deliver four parts only the core question the assumptions the constraints and a brief justification for each without showing every step
Ask the AI to reframe the problem from different angles first identify the exact problem then list at least three alternative frames and tell which seems strongest
Use a postmortem prompt where the AI imagines a failed outcome and explains what would cause it and how to prevent it before you move forward
Request a rapid risk check the AI flags blind spots and suggests concrete mitigations while keeping the reasoning to a high level rather than a long chain of thoughts
Have the AI summarize options into one clear path and a safe fallback and use it to guide experiments with Generative AI use cases 2025
