In my work on AI ethics and human-AI interaction, I'm particularly interested in tools that enhance rather than replace human capabilities. The field of AI human-AI collaboration tools is growing rapidly, with applications across many industries.
We're seeing everything from AI assistants that help with research and writing, to collaborative design tools where humans and AI work together on creative projects, to diagnostic systems in healthcare where AI suggests possibilities and human experts make final decisions. The most effective tools seem to be those that play to the strengths of both humans and AI - human judgment, creativity, and ethical reasoning combined with AI's data processing and pattern recognition capabilities.
What concerns me is ensuring these tools are designed with proper human oversight and control. We need interfaces that make it clear when AI is making suggestions versus decisions, and systems that can explain their reasoning.
