Can a kitchen lab sugar crystal pattern be grown into a readable color coded message visible to the naked eye, and which variables really control the final design (seed size, evaporation rate, temperature)?

Sounds like a fun idea, but you probably won't get a readable color coded message from plain sugar crystals to the naked eye. You would need colored solutions or dyes and careful control of the growth.

Not really a readable message with plain sugar, and yeah the variables matter but seed size, evaporation rate, and temperature are the big ones.
