Mixing can be overwhelming when you're starting out. What free mixing plugins for beginners would you include in a basic mixing chain? I'm thinking EQ, compression, maybe some saturation, reverb, delay... but which specific free plugins are actually intuitive and effective for someone learning? Some free analog emulation plugins can be great for adding character. What would your ideal free mixing setup look like for a beginner?
For free mixing plugins for beginners, I'd recommend: TDR Nova for EQ, TDR Kotelnikov for compression, Valhalla Supermassive for reverb/delay, and ChowDSP tape for saturation. This covers the basics without overwhelming someone. These free analog emulation plugins from ChowDSP add nice character. A simple chain of free mixing plugins can get you professional results if you learn them well.
