I'm a guitarist looking to record direct into my DAW. What free guitar amp simulators actually sound good? I've tried a few and some are surprisingly decent while others are pretty rough. Looking for something that can handle clean tones, crunch, and high gain. Some free distortion and saturation plugins can help too for adding extra character. What are your experiences with free amp sims? Any hidden gems out there?

For free guitar amp simulators, the Ignite Amps collection is really good. Their Emissary amp sim is particularly popular for high gain. For cleaner tones, the LePou plugins are decent. These free distortion and saturation plugins work well with amp sims too. While they're not as polished as Neural DSP, these free guitar amp simulators are definitely usable for demos and home recording.
