I write both fiction and nonfiction, and I've noticed that different writing techniques work better for different types of projects. For my novel, I need different approaches than for my blog posts or technical writing.
I'm curious what best writing techniques people have discovered for specific types of writing. For example, what works well for fiction writing tips might not apply to creative nonfiction advice, and poetry writing techniques are completely different from screenwriting tips.
What specific techniques have you found most effective for:
- Novel writing tips vs short story techniques
- Creative nonfiction advice vs academic writing
- Poetry writing techniques vs prose
- Screenwriting tips vs playwriting
I'm always looking to expand my toolkit and learn from others' experiences with different writing methods.
