Full Version: Local community building platforms that actually bring neighbors together

I've tried several local community building platforms like Nextdoor and neighborhood Facebook groups, but they seem to devolve into either complaints about minor issues or people trying to sell things. There's very little actual community building happening.

I'm looking for local community building platforms that are designed specifically to foster genuine connections between neighbors. Places where people organize real-world gatherings, share resources, support each other during difficult times, and build the kind of community where you actually know the people living around you.

What I've experienced so far is that these platforms either become echo chambers for complaints or ghost towns with no engagement. Neither builds real community.

Has anyone found local community building platforms that actually work for creating meaningful neighbor connections? I'm interested in platforms that might have features for organizing events, sharing skills and tools, creating neighborhood support networks, or facilitating local projects.

I'm also curious how these platforms integrate with other community resources like volunteer coordination platforms and community service forums.
