I've been wanting to develop a mindfulness practice for a while now, but every time I try to start on my own, I get frustrated and give up. I think having some community support might help, but I'm overwhelmed by all the options for mindfulness online groups.
As a complete beginner, I'm looking for mindfulness online groups that are welcoming to people who have no idea what they're doing. I need something that starts with the absolute basics and doesn't assume any prior knowledge or experience.
What I don't want is groups that are overly spiritual or require buying expensive courses. Just practical, evidence-based mindfulness practices explained in simple terms.
Has anyone found mindfulness online groups that are particularly good for beginners? I'm interested in things like guided meditation communities, daily practice check-ins, or groups that focus on applying mindfulness to everyday life rather than just sitting meditation.
Platform preferences would be something with both live elements (like Zoom meetings) and asynchronous discussion so I can participate when it fits my schedule.
