For honest smartphone reviews, I've been using the Pixel 8 Pro for 6 months now and it's fantastic for photography but the battery life is just okay. The AI features are actually useful though, especially the call screening and magic editor. If you take a lot of photos it's worth it, otherwise maybe wait for the Pixel 9.
iPhone 15 Pro Max user here. The battery life is incredible, I easily get through a heavy day. The camera system is top notch, especially the 5x zoom. The action button is actually useful once you set it up for shortcuts. It's expensive but if you're already in the Apple ecosystem it's a solid upgrade.
