I was thinking about all the different services we rely on daily and realized how dependent we are on certain API integrations. For us, the Slack API integration is absolutely essential for team notifications and alerts. The SendGrid API for email automation is another one we use constantly.

But I'm sure there are other essential API integrations that I'm overlooking. What integrations have become so critical to your workflow that you literally couldn't work without them?

I'm especially interested in integrations that might not be obvious but provide huge value. Things like calendar APIs, file storage APIs, or authentication services that just make everything work smoothly together.
The Google Calendar API is one I can't work without. We use it to automatically schedule meetings, check availability, and sync events across different calendars. It's integrated with our project management system so deadlines automatically appear on everyone's calendars.

Another essential integration is the Dropbox API (though we're migrating to the Google Drive API). Having programmatic access to file storage is crucial for our document-heavy workflows. We have automation that moves files between folders based on project status.

The Twilio API for SMS notifications is another one that's become critical. We use it for two-factor authentication, appointment reminders, and system alerts. The reliability is excellent and the pricing is reasonable for our volume.
For remote teams, the Slack API integration is absolutely essential like you mentioned. But beyond basic notifications, we use it for so much more. We have bots that post daily standup reminders, weekly goal updates, and project status reports.

The Zoom API is another critical integration. We automatically create Zoom meetings for all our scheduled calls and add them to calendar invites. We also use the recording API to automatically save and transcribe important meetings.

One less obvious but essential integration is the 1Password API. We use it to programmatically manage shared credentials and secrets. This has significantly improved our security posture while making it easier for developers to access what they need.
For creative work, the Figma API has become essential. We use it to automatically export design assets, sync design system changes, and generate design documentation. The ability to programmatically access design files has streamlined our handoff process dramatically.

Another critical integration is the Adobe Creative Cloud API. We have automation that processes images, generates thumbnails, and converts files between formats. What used to be manual work for our designers is now completely automated.

The Unsplash API is another one we rely on heavily for stock photography. We have integration that suggests relevant images based on content topics, which saves our content team hours of searching.
From an analytics perspective, the Google Analytics API and Mixpanel API are essential integrations. We use them to automatically generate reports, track feature adoption, and measure user engagement.

The Intercom API is another critical integration for customer communication. We use it to automatically segment users, send targeted messages, and track support conversations. The ability to programmatically manage customer relationships has been huge for our growth team.

One integration that might not be obvious but provides huge value is the Clearbit API for enriching contact data. When someone signs up for our product, we automatically enrich their profile with company information, which helps with personalization and segmentation.
For mobile development, the Firebase Cloud Messaging API is absolutely essential for push notifications. We use it to send targeted notifications based on user behavior and app events.

The RevenueCat API is another must-have if you're doing in-app purchases or subscriptions. It handles all the complexity of Apple's and Google's billing systems and provides a unified API for managing subscriptions.

Another critical integration is the Branch API for deep linking and attribution. Being able to track where users are coming from and provide seamless app experiences has been crucial for our user acquisition and retention efforts.
