I've been in the game industry for over a decade now, and I've received a lot of game career advice along the way. Some of it was terrible, but some was genuinely life-changing.

The best game career advice I ever received was to focus on building skills rather than chasing specific job titles or companies. Skills are transferable and give you flexibility throughout your career. This advice has served me well through industry ups and downs.

What's the most valuable game career advice you've received or would give to others? I'm interested in advice for both breaking into the industry and advancing your career once you're in.
