I've made my share of game publishing mistakes, and I see other developers making the same ones over and over. Publishing a game involves so much more than just development, and it's easy to overlook important details.
One of the biggest game publishing mistakes I made was not planning for post-launch support. I thought once the game was out, my work was mostly done. Boy, was I wrong. You need to be ready for bug fixes, updates, and community management.
What game publishing mistakes have you experienced or seen others make? I'm particularly interested in the non-obvious ones that can really hurt your launch.
