I've been getting questions from some of my local business clients about influencer marketing for local businesses. They see big brands working with influencers and wonder if they should try it too.

My concern is that most local influencers in our area charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a single post, and I'm not convinced the ROI is there for a small boutique or restaurant.

Has anyone had success with micro-influencers or local influencers for small businesses? What kind of results have you seen, and how do you measure the effectiveness of influencer marketing when you're a small business with limited tracking capabilities?
I've been approached by a few local influencers" who want free coffee in exchange for posts. Some have like 5,000 followers, which seems like a lot, but I have no idea if their followers are actually in my area or care about coffee.

How do you evaluate whether an influencer is worth working with? And what should you ask for in terms of tracking or results?
