I've been pushing myself really hard lately, trying to maximize my workout transformation results, but I think I might be overdoing it. I'm sore all the time, my sleep isn't great, and I feel like my performance in the gym is actually going down instead of up.
Everyone talks about the importance of recovery for workout results, but what does that actually mean in practice? How many rest days do you really need? What about active recovery versus complete rest?
I'm following a pretty intense fitness routine with visible gains as the goal, but I'm worried I'm not giving my body enough time to actually recover and grow. How do you balance pushing hard enough to make progress with resting enough to actually benefit from your workouts?
