I've tried numerous focus improvement tools - Pomodoro timers, website blockers, distraction-free writing apps - but I'm not convinced they're actually making me more focused or just adding more rules to follow.
The theory behind focus improvement tools makes sense: remove distractions, work in focused bursts, take regular breaks. But in practice, I find myself fighting the tools as much as fighting distractions.
Has anyone found focus improvement tools that actually become invisible helpers rather than additional sources of friction? I'm particularly interested in tools that integrate with your existing workflow rather than requiring you to adopt a completely new system.
