Sometimes you stumble upon an artist or album that completely takes you by surprise. Like you weren't expecting to love it based on the genre or description, but then it just clicks.
My most surprising recent musical discoveries have been "Black Country, New Road" - I usually don't go for post-rock stuff but their album "Ants From Up There" is just incredible. Also "Soccer Mommy" - her song "Circle the Drain" hit me way harder than I expected.
What recent musical discoveries have caught you off guard in a good way? I love those moments where you find something that expands your taste in unexpected directions, especially from artists you might have overlooked before.
