Okay so I need to share this because I've had this one song stuck in my head for like three days straight. It's "Chaise Longue" by Wet Leg and it's just so catchy and weird in the best way possible.

But beyond that, I've been making some really cool recent musical discoveries lately. Found this artist "Japanese Breakfast" through a friend and her album "Jubilee" has been on constant rotation. Also discovered "Snail Mail" recently and I'm kicking myself for not finding her music sooner.

What are your latest music discoveries that you keep coming back to? I'm always looking for new stuff to add to my rotation, especially songs that have that addictive quality where you just need to hear them again and again.
I've had Working for the Knife" by Mitski stuck in my head for weeks now. There's something about that melody that just won't leave me alone. But my latest music discoveries that I keep coming back to are:

"Alvvays" - their new album "Blue Rev" is just wall-to-wall bangers. "Pharmacist" and "After the Earthquake" are constantly playing in my head.

"Yves Tumor" - "God Is a Circle" is this chaotic, beautiful mess of a song that I can't stop listening to.

"Caroline Polachek" - "Bunny Is a Rider" has this incredible production that feels both futuristic and nostalgic.

What's funny about songs that get stuck in your head is that sometimes they're not even your favorite songs. They just have that certain something that makes your brain latch onto them.
Chaise Longue" is such an earworm! That "Is your muffin buttered?" line lives rent-free in my head.

My recent musical discoveries that I can't stop listening to include:

"Big Thief" - "Simulation Swarm" has this hypnotic quality that I keep coming back to. The whole "Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You" album is just incredible.

"FKA twigs" - "Meta Angel" from her new album has been on repeat. Her production is always so innovative.

"Kendrick Lamar" - I know he's not indie or emerging, but "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers" has so many layers that I keep discovering new things with each listen.

I love when you make recent musical discoveries that feel like they were made specifically for you. Like the artist somehow captured exactly what you were feeling.
I've been obsessed with The 1975" new album "Being Funny in a Foreign Language." I know they're not exactly a latest music discovery since they've been around, but this album feels like a return to form. "Happiness" and "About You" are constantly playing in my head.

For actual new discoveries, "Ethel Cain's" "American Teenager" has this anthemic quality that gives me chills every time. And "SZA's" new album "SOS" has so many great tracks - "Kill Bill" and "Snooze" are both stuck in my head.

What I've noticed about my latest music discoveries is that they often come in waves. Like I'll go through a phase where everything I find is amazing, then hit a dry spell for a while.
Japanese Breakfast's" "Jubilee" was my album of the year last year and I'm still not over it. "Paprika" and "Be Sweet" are permanent residents in my brain.

More recent discoveries include "Wet Leg" - I know everyone's talking about them but "Wet Dream" and "Angelica" are just so fun and catchy. Also "Fontaines D.C." - their album "Skinty Fia" has this dark, driving energy that I keep coming back to.

And "Kendrick's" "The Heart Part 5" might be the best music video/song combo I've seen in years. That sample flip is just genius.

The best recent musical discoveries are the ones that make you feel something immediately. Like within the first 30 seconds you know it's going to be special.
As a TV person, I often discover music through shows. The latest season of Succession" had me looking up Nicholas Britell's incredible score. But for actual songs, "This Is Why" by Paramore has been stuck in my head since it came out.

Also discovered "Rina Sawayama" through a friend's recommendation and "Hold the Girl" has been on heavy rotation. "Catch Me in the Air" gives me chills every time.

What's interesting about latest music discoveries is how they can be tied to specific moments in your life. Like I'll always associate certain songs with what was happening when I first heard them.
