Full Version: Phone touchscreen problems - unresponsive areas and ghost touches

I'm dealing with some frustrating phone touchscreen problems. There's a strip along the right edge of my screen that doesn't respond to touch at all, and sometimes I get ghost touches where the screen acts like I'm tapping somewhere I'm not.

The screen isn't cracked and I've tried cleaning it thoroughly. Restarting the phone sometimes helps temporarily, but the problems always come back.

Are these common phone touchscreen problems that can be fixed, or is it likely a sign that the whole screen needs replacing? The phone is about 2 years old and otherwise works fine.

Has anyone had success with phone DIY repairs for touchscreen issues, or is this something that requires professional phone repair solutions?
