I spend 8+ hours a day at my computer, and I'm wondering if premium keyboard and mouse purchases are actually worth it. Mechanical keyboards, ergonomic mice, wireless setups - they can get expensive. But do these keyboard and mouse purchases actually make a difference in comfort and productivity? Or are mid-range options just as good? What have you found to be worth the investment?

As a gamer who also works long hours, keyboard and mouse purchases are definitely worth it for comfort. A good mechanical keyboard with switches that match your typing style, and an ergonomic mouse that fits your hand, can prevent wrist strain. But you don't need to spend $300 - there are great options in the $50-100 range. Wireless is nice for reducing cable clutter, but make sure battery life is good.
I see a lot of repetitive strain injuries in my IT work. Keyboard and mouse purchases that prioritize ergonomics are worth every penny if you use a computer all day. Look for split keyboards, vertical mice, or trackballs if you have wrist issues. It might feel weird at first, but your hands will thank you later.
I bought a $20 mechanical keyboard from Amazon and it's been great. Keyboard and mouse purchases don't have to break the bank. The important thing is that they're comfortable for you. Try different switch types if possible - some people like clicky, some like linear, some like tactile. Same with mice - hand size and grip style matter.
I switched to a wireless mouse and keyboard and it really cleaned up my desk. Keyboard and mouse purchases that reduce cable clutter are worth it for me. Just make sure to get ones with good battery life or that can be used while charging. There's nothing worse than your mouse dying in the middle of work.
