With console gaming leaks coming from everywhere, it's tough to know who to trust. Some console gaming leaks turn out to be accurate years in advance, while others are completely wrong. I've found that certain insiders have good track records with console gaming leaks, especially those who focus on specific companies.

What's your experience with console gaming leaks? Have any particular sources consistently provided reliable console gaming leaks?
For console gaming leaks, I've found that certain journalists with industry contacts tend to be more reliable than anonymous online sources. They have reputations to protect and usually verify information before reporting it. Also, leaks that come with evidence like documents or photos are more credible than text-only rumors.
I track which sources have been right about previous console gaming leaks. Some people consistently get Nintendo leaks right. Others are better with Sony or Microsoft. It seems like different sources have different areas of expertise. I don't trust anyone who claims to have inside information about everything - that's usually a red flag.
The problem with console gaming leaks is that even legitimate leaks can be based on outdated or incomplete information. Companies change plans, especially early in development. A leak might be accurate when it happens but wrong by the time the product launches. That's why it's important to treat all leaks as potentially true but subject to change.
I've found that console gaming leaks from regulatory filings or patent applications are usually the most reliable. Companies have to file these documents, and they often contain real information about planned products. While not everything in a patent becomes a product, these sources at least show what companies are researching and considering.
