I've been focusing on home decor DIY achievements lately and just finished building custom floating shelves for my living room. The transformation was incredible. What decor projects have you completed that you're really proud of?
Made a gallery wall with family photos and thrifted frames. Spent weeks collecting interesting frames, painted them all the same color, and arranged them. It's the first thing people compliment when they visit. Such a satisfying home decor DIY achievement.
Built a custom media console with hidden cable management. Designed it myself to fit our specific space and TV size. The clean look with no visible wires is so professional looking. Probably my favorite home decor DIY achievement.
Created custom floating shelves in my office. Used reclaimed wood from an old barn door. The character and warmth they add to the room is incredible. Every time I look at them I feel proud of that home decor DIY achievement.
Designed and built a custom headboard with integrated lighting. Used LED strips behind a fabric panel for soft ambient light. It's both functional and beautiful, and completely changed the feel of our bedroom.
Made a macrame wall hanging for my living room. Took a class online and spent evenings working on it. The texture and handmade quality adds so much warmth to the space. Not a typical home improvement" but definitely a home decor DIY achievement I'm proud of.
