As someone who's fairly new to DIY, I'm always looking for beginner DIY project wins to build confidence. Just successfully installed some outdoor lighting and it felt amazing. What simple projects have given you that sense of accomplishment as a beginner?
Installing a programmable door lock was my recent beginner DIY project win. Was nervous about messing with the door but it was actually really straightforward. Now I never worry about forgetting keys!
Building a simple planter box for herbs. Used basic pine boards, nothing fancy. The sense of accomplishment when I planted the first herbs was amazing. Perfect beginner project that's actually useful.
Painting an accent wall. So simple but makes such a huge difference. Chose a bold color I was nervous about but it completely transformed the room. Took an afternoon and cost maybe $40.
Installing curtain rods and hanging proper curtains. Sounds silly but going from bare windows to nice curtains made the room feel so much more finished. Easy beginner win that builds confidence.
Replacing light fixtures. Was terrified of electricity but watched a ton of tutorials, turned off the breaker, and did it step by step. Now I've replaced all the builder-grade fixtures in my house. Great beginner project that saves money too.
